The Election Commission (EC) has directed relevant authorities to assign polling locations for the upcoming local by-elections on December 1. These venues, which include community and private schools, ward offices, health posts, community halls, industrial sites, and public spaces, will be available for use starting November 28 until the voting concludes.
Polling is set to take place from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, as per the EC’s schedule. Through the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, the EC has instructed local authorities in the election areas to ensure proper arrangements for these locations.
During a meeting on Sunday, the EC encouraged local governments to declare December 1 as a public holiday in the respective areas to support the voting process. EC spokesperson Nota Pokharel Aryal highlighted the need to foster a free, fair, credible, and cost-effective environment for the elections.
